Welcome back to the new semester!
Recently, we were able to sit down with a few of the staff members of White City schools, asking them how they plan to make the new semester different from the last.
Mr. Brian Henry, our HS Math teacher, said he is not doing a lot differently, other than doing College Algebra instead of Pre Calc.
Ms. Mackenzie Boltwood, being asked the same question, stated that, hopefully, she will find some new games and ideas for classes.
Mrs. Megan Carson said that she plans to make things more fun than last semester.
Mrs. Lorri Kasten stated, “I am going to start a new youth leaders program.”
When asked about upcoming menus, Mrs. Christina Allenbaugh, our head cook here in White City, said that there is a 6th and 5th grade class menu. There is also a fruit program going on from 2:15-3:10. Students go into the cafeteria and have a choice between many different types of fruit to snack on. Additionally, an event called “Bread in the Basket” is coming up. Students make bread to take out to students and teachers all over the school and also take home for themselves.
Mr. Chris Wallace, one of our paras here at White City provided us the classes he is working in which include: English, Science, Chem., and History.
When asked, our principal/superintendent, Mrs. Darlene Griffiths, stated that her goal is to, “Improve my communication skills.”
Our vice principal, Mr. Kane Hensley, stated that he didn't think last semester was bad, and we will continue to grow and change to make the second semester better.
Finally, when asked, Ms. Janice Benner put it simply. She needs a break!
I sincerely thank all of the staff members that I interviewed and that gave me all the answers they provided. This could not be done without them.
