Winter Homecoming is here again.
On Friday afternoon, February 2nd, before the big game, the High School had a pep rally in the gym. There were many games using escorts and senior candidates, including ‘Egg Chase’ and ‘Cotton Ball Race.’ We had our teachers and staff play musical chairs. This is a yearly tradition, where students enjoy seeing teachers fall to the floor. Finally, at the end of the pep rally, the highschoolers all circled up and did a chant. This is a yearly tradition that gets the students pumped up to cheer their team on to victory.
That evening, the Homecoming ceremony was held. The High School was requested to select 1 female Senior for Queen and 1 male Senior for King. This is a chance to highlight two of our great students. This year Bailey Rapp and Walter Rhodes won homecoming King and Queen. The other senior candidates this year were Quentin Summers, Emily VanValkenburg, Shayley Sanford, and Yuri Rossi.
Younger High School students were asked to escort the King and Queen in the procession ceremony. Our escorts alongside them were: Jhet Johnson, Kara Bell, Kole Reidy, Harmony Otte, Amelia Friedli, and Nathen Traynor.
In our Homecoming basketball games, our teams unfortunately lost. All the games were very close with us being in the lead till the 4th quarter. The final score was 37-59 in Solomon's favor. Congratulations to the Solomon Gorillas.
