Today we sat down with our new Elementary para, Jada Lee. We asked her some questions to get to know her better.

Where were you before becoming a para? Jada says, “ I was a stay at home mom, while also doing college classes.” Jada has an associates degree in Criminal Justice and wants to possibly go back to school for her masters degree. Jada is local and lives in White City.

What does a paraprofessional do?  A para is an extra teacher in the room, someone who supports and guides them to their educational goals. When asked why she wanted to become a para she states, “ I became a Paraeducator because I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential, and I enjoy making a positive impact on their learning experience. Supporting students and witnessing their growth is incredibly rewarding for me”. She says the best part of her job is “Being back in the school I went to, also being able to help students that rely on us.  I love helping students get the most of the school experience”.

Paras needs breaks too, and when asked what she does outside of school she says, “I love taking walks with my husband and daughter, we all love being outside when it's nice. If we stay in it's never a dull moment either with cooking, reading, cleaning, dancing, and laughing!”.
