Boltwood

We recently got a chance to sit down with the P.E. (Physical Education) teacher Mrs. Mackenzie Boltwood. Boltwood teaches Kindergarten-12th grade P.E. This is her 5th year teaching P.E in White City.  She is originally from Herington. She's always enjoyed working with people and being active, so she decided to combine them and become a P.E. teacher. When asked why she became a P.E teacher, she said, “I love watching the children gain new skills and learn how to work with others, while having fun.”  In her school years, Mrs. Boltwood did Volleyball for four years, softball for four years, dance for four years, cheer for four years, basketball for 1 year, and track for 1 year. She went to a relatively small high school in Herington, Kansas.  Boltwood tells us that there are lots of benefits of being physically active and healthy. She thinks children are less active than in the past, mostly due to newer technology.  Boltwood is big on encouraging her students.  She always tells students to try their best, even if they aren't the best at certain things.
