RedRibbonWeek

October 23rd 2023 was the beginning of an annual event called Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon week is an event where adults and children all around the nation pledge to learn about the destructive effect of drug abuse. People also learn about the misuse of prescription drugs, and renew their commitment to a drug free and healthy life. This year our school celebrated with events for students, allowing students to wear things like hats. They also celebrated by decorating doors against drug use. For example, 8th grade decorated the English door with a slogan that said, “Drugs are a tragedy.”  Mrs. Friedli, our Special Education teacher, decorated her door like an “Angry Bird.” She also put a zany pun on the door. We have posters around the school saying the theme. The national theme for Red Ribbon Week in 2023 was, “Be kind to your mind. Live drug free.” Red Ribbon Week is the largest campaign against drug abuse in the United States. Schools all over the nation celebrate Red Ribbon Week to help prevent drug abuse. Red Ribbon Week is an event that students enjoy by donating money to schools to get privileges like wearing hats. All things considered, the students and staff had a lot of fun decorating the school, and celebrating with events.
