Our local Thanksgiving tradition is back again, with a history that goes back more than fifty years. On November 8th, the White City United Methodist Church held their annual Turkey Supper. A great deal of preparation goes into this. There were a total of 19 turkeys cooked for this event. There were numerous people who helped with this event. There were people who made the food, people who served the food, and people who carried the food out to cars for hungry people. In total six students helped out. The meal consisted of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, creamed corn, a roll, red hot jello, and pumpkin cake. This event is always popular, and, this year, there were a total of 461 meals ordered. Each meal individually cost $12. The church made a total of $5,160.01. This is one of the biggest annual events for the White City United Methodist Church. The money the church makes goes to the church and any future event that the committee desires. In the picture, Mrs. Nancy Morgan is cutting up a turkey for cooking. Another Turkey Supper in the books!
