Mr. Killmon Reads Books

On November 29th, 2023. The English teacher, Mr. Killmon, of White City High School, sat down for an interview. He said that he enjoyed working at the school, due to the small classes, and the positive atmosphere. The school is located in a small rural area - so this makes sense. Mr. Killmon taught in Saudi Arabia and Thailand. When he came back to America, he wanted to teach in America, but lacked the education to do so. Though he already had a Bachelor’s Degree, he was able to attend Ottawa University and get those classes. After that, he felt a calling to a small town. Mr. Killmon also found the former principal very welcoming during those early days of his teaching career. During his student teaching, Mr. Killmon observed larger schools , and found them more like a machine; on the other hand, he likes the non-system like feeling of White City Schools. Mr. Killmon has been at White City High Schools for a total of 6 years. He is an English and Journalism teacher, formerly coached Scholar’s Bowl and Quiz Bowl. A quote from him is, “I really enjoy teaching in White City. I hope to stay here for many years to come. The students are awesome, and I hope to see them off to bright successful futures.”
