January: Boys Basketball Tournament at Centre

On January 18-January 20, Rural Vista played in the Centre tournament. There were eight teams in the tournament. In the first game of the tournament, Rural Vista played Centre. Echoing the outcome of previous encounters, Rural Vista won by a good margin. The final score was 70-43. In the second game Rural Vista played Marion. Unfortunately, this game didn't go as planned. In the end, Rural Vista ended up losing by more than 20 points. The final score was 57-36. Rural Vista was now placed in the “Loser Bracket,” and were slotted in to play Herington. Last time these two teams faced off resulted in a blowout in Rural Vista's favor. Going into the game, Rural Vista didn't expect it to be as easy, but they remained confident in their chances. For most of the game, Rural Vista had the lead, but then the game grew close in the last few minutes. Finally, the tide turned in our favor. The game ended with a Rural Vista victory, at 56-49. With this win, Rural Vista was awarded the third place plaque in the Centre tournament. Great going, team!
