FCA

Fellowship of Christian Athletes, also known as FCA, is an excellent way to join students and coaches together for an enriching time. FCA was an independent organization until 1939. In 1939 it became part of the U.S Department of Agriculture. In 1953 the organization went back to being independent, due to the Farm Credit Act.  The four founding fathers of FCA are Dr Louis R. Evans, Dr. Roe Johnston, Don McClanen, and Branch Rickey.

According to the official FCA website, the group “focuses on serving local communities around the globe, by engaging, equipping, and empowering coaches and athletes to unite inspire and change the world through the Gospel.” “FCA’s mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and his church.” It continues, “FCA’s vision is to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.” Moreover, “Their values are that our relationships will demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word  through Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence.”

The website also says, “Their strategy to complete this is to seek to make disciples through our strategy of engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.” Landon Parker (President of White City FCA) said, “FCA is a great way to share our Christian values through the sports we play.”
