Chris Wallace has been a paraprofessional for two and a half years at White City. He has started driving a bus for White City this year. His bus route runs all the way to Alta Vista. He used to be active duty in the army before he retired. His reason for being a para at White City is because he needed something to do to take up that retired time.
We asked him if he had any prior teaching experience, and he replied, “I used to teach wheeled vehicle mechanics in a military school in Virginia.” He worked on everything from water pumps to artillery when he was a mechanic. The highest rank he achieved while being active duty was Sergeant First Class.
Chris says that he enjoys being a para in White City. His favorite quote is, “Every man dies, but not every man truly lives.” Chris also has a student currently enrolled in White City. He doesn’t have a specific teacher for which he is a para, but more so students to which he is assigned. His favorite part about working in White City is the fact that it is a small school, which allows for more one-on-one time. His favorite class to help in is Chemistry, which is with the Junior class. Chris’ favorite movie is Rio Bravo.
