On April 13, 2024, White City High School students had the opportunity to once again attend prom. “It’s a chance to let loose,” Freshman Kara Bell tells us. The Junior class was in charge of setting up the Little Gym and deciding on a theme. For this year: the chosen theme was “Western.”
Everyone gathered around to take pictures in front of the United Methodist Church. Afterwards, the tradition of the parade through White City began. There were a variety of vehicles driven. Journey Peterson and Trent Hoff rode mopeds. Landon and his date brought a sprayer. Next, a meal was provided by the Junior class parents. There was a taco bar, with ice cream for dessert.
After the food, it was time for the dance. The students had fun on the dance floor, engaging with others. There was also a “saloon” where students could customize their own alcohol-free beverages. After the dance, at the start of After Prom, a bus took the kids out to bowling in Junction City. The kids bowled, played pool, and enjoyed arcade games.
For the next part of After Prom, the students took the bus to the YMCA. There was a swimming pool and basketball court open for use. Jimmy John's sandwiches were provided as a meal. Once this was over, the group made their trip back to White City, where they had a chance to earn multiple prizes.
Once again, Prom was an eventful and exciting night.
