music

On April 9th, 2024, White City Schools held their Spring Concert. It consisted of 15 songs, compiled and led by Mr. Schierling. These songs were:

  • “If All the Raindrops” and “The Garden Sung”, sung by 1st graders.

  •  “Rattlin’ Bog” and “I’m Gonna Mail Myself to You” sung by the Kindergarten class.

  •  “Springtime” and "Great Big House” were performed by the 2nd graders.

  • “Summer Fun” and “Chicken on a Fencepost/Dinah” were sung by the 3rd and 4th graders.

  • “Celtic Air and Dance” and “The Tempest” were performed by the Junior High Band.

  •  “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” was a treat done by the H. S. Ensemble. This ensemble includes guitars, bass, piano, and drum. The song was originally done by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

  • “My Home’s in Montana/Home on the Range” and “Lion Sleeps Tonight” sung by Jr High Choir.  The latter song is a pop favorite originally done by The Tokens.

  • “The River” by both the Jr and HS Choir.

Most of these were sung with instrumental accompaniment; however, “Celtic Air and Dance”, and “The Tempest” were played using only instruments. The school day before, most of the music students lent a hand and helped set up the concert.

White City is lucky to once again have a musical program.  Thank you, Mr. Schierling, for bringing the tunes back to our school!
