On 2024-04-26 The White City FFA hosted the White City Tractorcade. The White City Tractorcade is a day which the White City FFA Advisor Ms. Tracy Oelschlaeger hosts every year. It is a day when students from 9-12 bring any type of farming implement, and park it near the White City football field. This is a day to celebrate the local community, which is heavily dependent on agriculture. All students and staff were invited to come out for a fun and informative display of the farm/ranch equipment and implements.
At the end of the school day, students and teachers went outside and stand on the sidewalk. The students that brought equipment went around town in a short parade. They enjoyed showing off their fancy farm equipment.
Numerous White City students brought pieces of equipment. These include a Case IH 165 Puma tractor. The tractor pulled a New Holland baler behind it. Parker Brought a John Deere tractor. Landon brought his John Deere sprayer. Jerrel brought a John Deere tractor, along with a John Deere Planter. Colter brought a Case IH Swather.
Jhet said that the baler he had brought is used to pick up and bale all of the hay on the ground to be ready to give to livestock on his ranch. Parker said he uses his tractor to move hay bales and pull impediments at his farm. Landon said he uses his sprayer to spray crops on his farm with pesticides. Finally, Colter used his swather to cut hay to put in bales for livestock.
