October 18th 2024 was the date of this year’s annual Homecoming game.
Heat victories continued to rack up after the defeat of Hartford 45-0. Their record officially hit 6-1, with the district play record at 3-0. This victory on Rural Vista Homecoming and Senior Night led our Homecoming King Logan Tate and Queen Amelia Friedli to convey their happiness. In their prepared remarks, they also expressed gratitude to their families.
The Heat started off on defense, where the Heat held Hartford and then Logan Tate continued to run a 52-yard touchdown, before Kole Reidy obtained the 2-point conversion. Rural Vista then forced a safety. Afterwards, on the free kick, Logan Tate ran the ball down for a touchdown. Unfortunately, it was called back due to a flag. After the flag, Gavin Carson ran the ball down for a 32-yard touchdown. Marco Acquistapace kicked a 1 point conversion to earn the extra point. After the Heat stopped the Jaguars again, Kole Reidy ran for a 35-yard touchdown, with Marco earning him the extra point. The Heat continued to hold back Hartford, allowing The Heat to get the ball back. Koden Sanford then ran for a 11 yard touchdown off a QB sneak. Marco kicked another PAT(point after touchdown) for the extra point.
In the fourth quarter, Parker Diekmann came in and ran for a 46-yard touchdown before Marco Acquistapace kicked another PAT. After one final possession from the Jaguars being held back, Nathen Traynor scored a 7-yard touchdown and Marco got the final point. The final score of 45-0 ended the game on the Mercy Rule.
